### dictionary-of-muckrights other pages: => why-msm.html why-msm *originally posted:* apr 2021 ### antitrust law * still not doing a hell of a lot, really. ### artificial intelligence * a technology that ron makes fun of routinely, but which he will ultimately deploy to handle all those irritating ddos attacks. ### bsd * not just a license anymore-- they even made it an os. a lot of people on muckrights want to (and probably will) eventually switch to bsd, but its (a little) like migrating from windows to gnu/linux-- if you want more freedom, youll have to move farther away from at least SOME of the bullshit youve grown accustomed to. if that doesnt discourage them (theyre doing alright actually, theyre not the ones im making fun of) then ron will. debian must have a virgin sacrificed to it every 27 days for ian jackson to maintain his dark powers. ### ddos * a cross which the owner of muckrights carries around everywhere he goes, which he could probably put down in a variety of ways if it wasnt a fucking trademark at this point. ### dt * distrusted regarding loyalty to free software (or truth) by as many as three people from muckrights, one of whom decided to throw another under the bus for having exactly the same concern-- still brought up (quite dishonestly, for purposes of furthering exactly this double standard) from time to time, including in a video made in april. since its literally routine bullshit, we might as well mention it here. ### fediverse * a fake-left shithole run by a cabal, led by a stallman backstabber, who worships codes of conduct as his source of power and (this part is a bit of a stretch) intrigue. * the muckrights owner doesnt like it either, but probably for different reasons than that. ### fsf * either has its hand up the owner of muckrights, or he keeps backing up onto it. sometimes he forgets that the fsf he panders to (and is a mouthpiece for) is the same one that allowed the anti-stallman coup to happen in the first place-- of course this is disputed, but usually with a lot of handwaving and rarely with a lot of substance. ### gnu project * could refer to the gnu project started by richard stallman, or the fraudulent pretender to the throne that muckrights has for an entire day refused to warn people about or comment on, thus inspiring this website. * (10 hours after posting this, 1 whole day into the latest coup) finally! http://techrights.org/2021/04/16/gnu-coup/ this video totally made the following article (and this website) possible: => msm-and-the-website-that-almost-wasnt.html * i have referred to the gnu project as both "the flagship of the free software" movement and "an orgy of bullshit". the former refers to the overall importance of the gnu project; the latter refers to what has happened to it in terms of development-- gdb and gcc practically outsourced to red hat (now ibm) and bison outsourced to microsoft! what makes it an orgy of bullshit is what ive heard from people in the project in response to this. they are not protecting, preserving or maintaining gnu-- they are abandoning it to the vultures. ### if-by-muckrights * the nice thing about double standards is that muckrights has so many to choose from. ### inaclr * a mantra among muckrights survivors that they will never turn into its owner. (you can pick up bad habits from all sorts of people, especially in response to stressful situations). ### infighting * the thing ron tells people "we" should avoid, to downplay stories so he can look into them without any serious competition. if ron looks into something, its "investigating"; if he discredits something, its "activism"-- if anybody ELSE does it (even about the same story, with the same basic conclusion or suspicion, that is) its "infighting". ### linux * the kernel that muckrights has said for years is controlled by microsoft, while refusing to even attempt to flee it. that by itself would garner less derision, if they didnt simultaneously harp about how awful it is while discouraging and even misrepresenting the efforts of their own community to get away. see also "if-by-muckrights". ### oliva * the primary (known) but not likely sole conduit of information from the fsf to the outside world. sometimes they put stuff on their website, too. * but not necessarily reliable: => https://muckrights-sans-merde.neocities.org/oliva-feeds-misleading-information-to-bloggers.html ### patents * a topic probably even muckrights gets right, though the owner is no pj from groklaw. ### reinforcement * sadly, the cost of criticising muckrights is making the owner feel more validated in his dissemination of bullshit. its awful to agree with bribe of linux on anything and you know shes only damning with faint praise, but muckrights DOES actually have potential. ### ron * the owner, or at least ringleader of muckrights. not actually named ron; first appeared on ewwfs. ### safe space * muckrights has had a safe space policy for a little while now, but they certainly dont put it that way. ### scooby-doo maneuver * an acquisition technique that is a favourite among microsoft execs and writers of scooby-doo episodes, where someone hoping to take over a property first makes it look undesirable (by dressing up as a ghost and scaring people away) so that others don't bid higher, show interest or have competition for the property at all. * used by the owner of muckrights to create, appropriate and simulate a monopoly on ideas. see also "if-by-muckrights". ### shawn * the alleged founder of muckrights; not actually named shawn. most likely a real person. first appeared (somewhat) in "a-muckrights-carol". ### smartwatch * if the owner of muckrights had one, he would probably complain about it getting ddosed every few days. ### sjvn * i had the same misgivings about him as dt, but then i was right about him, too. the s in oss stands for "shill". which one? both! ### systemd * in maniac mansion, dr. fred starts behaving oddly after being psychically possessed by an evil meteorite. similarly, muckrights is run from a 6-monitor command centre running several instances of debian. this probably isnt a coincidence. ### the prophecy * the fantastic tale of a server os upgrade that muckrights has alluded to for years now: "the elders described the days the upgrade would come, they were just like these days, according to the prophecy"; many heathen have started to doubt this upgrade and insist that muckrights is being swindled, then passes the bullshit onto their readers. ### torvalds, linus * he was wrong about free software advocates, but ron still claims he was right about openbsd. ### trsec * someone ron talks to in irc, presumably real. possibly shawn? claims to have enjoyed my work, was told (falsely) that i had come back in march. ### wokepedia * what you get when wikipedia replaces npov with wpov, but in practice its less to do with writing style and more to do with wokesorship. => https://muckrights-sans-merde.neocities.org
